As part
of our continuing drive to improve
the service to our patients, we will
be starting a new 'all in one'
medication review from January 1s
2011.
We will
be asking those of you on regular
medication to attend for an annual
review in the month of your birth.
On receiving a letter, you will be
asked to call our recall team,
who will book any necessary blood
tests or nursing appointments on one
day and then a follow-up medication
review soon after. Therefore, most
of you will only need to attend the
health centre twice in one month to
cover the whole year. However, some
patients need to be monitored more
closely and may need to come back
again. If so, we will send reminder
letters.
We do
ask you to respond to the letters
and book your appointments as we
cannot continue to supply medication
safely without regular checks.
In the
first year, some patients may be
asked to attend even though they
have been seen recently. We
apologise for this but it should
only happen once while we get
everyone into the new system.
We
thank you in advance for your
co-operation, and hope you will find
this new system to be of great
benefit to you. Please do not
hesitate to speak to me, Ajay Patel,
or my pharmacist colleague, Mr Mark
Stone, if you have any queries
regarding this new system.
Please do not ignore reminders to
make an appointment as your
prescription will not be ready for
collection.
message which has been posted due to
the number of people ignoring
reminders for medication reviews.
You will then be redirected to the
repeat prescription page.
